Quite a different day today. With the cold front that moved in (read temps only up to 26 degrees), smoke came along too. We can’t even see our usual Valhalla mountains out the kitchen window. So it’s been a lazy day that has so far involved nothing more strenuous for me than baking bread and taking the dogs for a nice, long walk. Simon spent most of the morning strenuously battling the computer and is now chipping more wood to complete the garden walkways.
Down days are important – especially important when you have to get up early again the next morning to do another epic hike – this time to the summit block of Mount Brennan. Praying the smoke clears up. No matter though – we are once again slated to enter an alpine paradise – that’s what matters.
Then another “down” day of laundry and picking blueberries from a local organic farm owned by the legendary Corky Evans. Then another alpine hike and then getting ready to go up to Berg Lake and Snowbird Pass on Mount Robson.
