It seems that every day I am called upon to make a difficult decision – and, quite frankly, I’m having a hard time with it. Take today for instance: just when we thought we had it all worked out to hike Jumbo Pass, Monica Meadows and MacBeth Icefield on a camping trip, I found out that the road to two trailheads was closed. Well rats! Now what?
Fine – how about we do MacBeth one day and something else the other day – and just when that seemed like a good decision, Nicky points out that MacBeth is a nine-hour day and with the drive there and back – well, it’s all a bit much then isn’t it?
So – finally we make the decision to do Brennan and Dennis (after looking at another camping trip to the Monashees) – so that’s done. And I get back and find a KMC note in my inbox saying someone is leading a hike to Monica Meadows on July 30! Does that mean the road just opened? Do I have to make new decisions?
Argh! Not to mention that every bloody day someone from KMC is posting a glorious “not to be missed” hike and I can’t do them all because I am already doing a “must-do” hike and it’s driving me mad!
Could the whole world please consult with me first when choosing hikes to make sure it’s okay with me and that my schedule permits?
It would make life so much easier.
Thank you very much.
