Well now – it’s been a catch-up day. It’s amazing how much laundry two people can produce in five days – especially if one of them has been hiking and has to peel off all clothing afterwards as a tick precaution.
So yesterday – when I certainly “should” have had ticks – completely tick-free! Hurrah!
Thinking of Alisa right now, who is probably either at the airport, on her way to the airport or already on the plane – green with envy (maybe purple with envy). Going to Europe! Lucky her!
Okay – back to my dull day. Did I mention laundry? And baking bread, cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming and brushing the dogs, which is the main reason I vacuum in the first place. It would be very nice if they finished molting/shedding season soon.
Chad is back hammering at the house and generally making a good deal of noise with power tools. Simon has also revved up power tools. Ah – the peace and quiet of life in the country!
I got some writing done today and I’m pleased to say that I’m still pleased with how it’s going. And no, I do not want to find a synonym for “pleased” – I did that deliberately.
My plan is to get quite tipsy today before dinner – what good, after all, is drunken Scrabble if you don’t get drunk?
Rhetorical question.
One other thing I accomplished today that simply puffs me up with great pride. I printed out my sign-in sheet for my first KMC hike on Wednesday and even remembered to print out some waiver forms. And it gets better: I found a clipboard and a pen, which means that I now have the accoutrements of a proper KMC leader. As you can see, it takes very little to make me feel wildly accomplished.
Let the good times roll!
