Another bushwhack

Perfect timing today with the puppies: a good long hike (read bushwhack) at Bannock Point and back home minutes before the heavens opened and the deluge began.

I am becoming philosophical about bushwhacking. It seems that as long as trails have turned into waterfalls, it’s going to be a necessity. And seeing as Saturday’s hike up Lost Mountain is a hike without a trail, I am getting some good training in that area.

I kept myself busy this morning, although I woke up feeling almost as tired as when I went to bed. It’s that foggy head stuff.

But I felt better after “getting things done” and felt much better after getting out with the dogs.

And now: three days of hiking.

It helps a lot given I am doing my best to find a balance between staying well informed and retaining a small bit of my sanity – not an easy thing to do these days.
