The Big City (of Nakusp)

Today I had the very exciting idea of driving to the big city of Nakusp – population – dunno, really – maybe two thousand?

Around here, that’s pretty exciting stuff.

So this morning I took care of all my chores, including laundry, cleaning, writing, etc. and then after lunch set out with Abby in the back seat. We walked on the seawall – actual pavement! And I shopped for things I just can’t get anywhere except in the “big city” like my brand of shampoo and conditioner and bulk almonds. I even dropped into The Source(!) for a new telephone jack.

It doesn’t get much more exciting.

And that was the highlight of my very strange day.

Some days, you just stop caring about everything.

If you’re into hot springs, go back some day and explore the natural hot pools in the area. I can’t remember where I got a scrawled guide about a dozen years ago (actually, I’m sure there are now online clues), but it mapped out a few hike-in undeveloped springs. Some of them were pretty cool 🙂

thanks – it’s amazing how many people have told me to check out the hot springs – sadly, I am not a fan! (feel like I should be (smile))
