And I’m happy about it – that I did it, I mean, not that I had no idea.
A full day of creative writing has a similar effect on me as a full day of hiking. Not physically, of course, but mentally. I feel stimulated, alive and purposeful. But that should come as no surprise to me: hiking and writing – this is what I do.
The nice thing is that a good part of the day was spent writing about hiking.
It started this morning with my Lightning Strike trip report. It continued through two submissions – one a lengthy and involved one for my hiking book. Then some more writing on a new manuscript.
And I finished off the day with editing Simon’s synopsis. He’s beginning to get some response – and it’s positive! Not that I’m surprised. I will only be shocked if his book isn’t picked up within the next week or two.
More things to be excited about: hiking (snowshoeing) both tomorrow and the day after. Two days in a row! Yay!
Tomorrow, Simon and I plan to explore a new trail. We have no idea where we are going or what we will find. Suffice to say, it’s going to be a good day with sun in the forecast and puppies tagging along.
