You’d think that Simon and I have had enough changes in our lives in the past 18 months (is that all it’s been? Sheesh!)
But no – more to come. First, let’s embrace the change of winter to spring. The days are longer and significantly warmer. We are, however, in the early stages. This means a very slippery driveway and lots of slush and snow at the sides of the road that has turned distinctly black. It also means muddy dirt roads and snow so heavy it is NOT a pleasure to walk in. But, given the lack of other options, walk in it we must.
Changes too with Simon seeking work and maybe going in an interesting new direction in his life – more on that later.
Meanwhile, while I go squirrelly as I do a massive five-minute walk on the back four, Simon continues to work on the house. Today it’s all about removing the bathroom door and painting it. Yup – a bathroom without a door – for a while – eek!!!!
Tomorrow we get up at 5 a.m. (yes – you read that right) but that’s okay. Those who know me, know there is only one reason I would do that – hiking day! Well, actually, snowshoeing day to Lightening Strikes at Kootenay Pass. This is one I’ve been wanting to do for weeks, so I’m pretty excited.
I hope to have tons of photos to post tomorrow.
I wrote another chapter in my proposed hiking book today. Truthfully, I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun writing. There’s something magical about combining the two things I love to do most actually three things: hiking, writing and photography. I am determined to make this work. This book is going to be published.
And more changes shall be embraced.
