It’s misty and slushy and the snow gets dirty – very reminiscent of Ontario. I was so spoiled on the island – I looked back the other day to the first signs of spring I photographed last year: green leaves, crocuses, green grass, heavy buds on the trees. Although I hear it’s not quite as lovely this year as it usually is.
I’ll be interested to see how the season progresses. I am given to understand that the biggest challenge is going to be getting outside: it gets too mushy too snowshoe and too muddy to hike. But what I said when I heard that for the tenth time is, “I’ll find a way.”
At any rate, it’s warmer – a lot warmer. Yay!
We are going dancing with Nancy and Cathy tonight. Fun! Music, food and dance – with dear friends.
And then I’m getting out to Bannock Point tomorrow for a few hours – taking all the trails and exploring for still new ones.
I’m also getting unreasonably excited about this hiking book proposal – excited enough that I wrote another entire chapter yesterday – and boy, does it ever flow. I can’t stop my fingers. In fact, my fingers don’t go fast enough to keep up with my brain.
And I’ve created a separate document for ideas – bits that have to go into the book that are hiking, but not necessarily trail – related.
