I honestly don’t know how we managed to fit in an afternoon walk (and a morning walk for me and the dogs). Today has been all about preparing for an insanely busy week ahead. The busy-ness will be mostly on Simon’s part. He has to tear out our old ceiling, put in a new one, install soffits and do the upstairs floor – all before I come back on Sunday.
Me? Heck, I am not nearly done my prep in aid of all this. I shopped for dinner tonight. I am currently baking bread. Empty boxes are all around me because, when I finish here, I have to unpack the hutch so it can be moved (floor refinishing) and pack up my desk and computer (ceiling falling down.).
In between, I have to keep an eye on rising loaves and also make dinner. Oh yes – pack my stuff – everything I will need for next week, including hiking and snowshoeing gear.
If nothing else, being this busy sure does keep the mind from dwelling on clouds, fog and rain – all of which we have in great plenitude.
Oh – I also managed to make reservation for July 24 and 25 (planning ahead) for Berg Lake on Mount Robson. Two nights will give us the necessary time to hike all the way up to Snowbird Pass!
Yes, I’m excited. And you can bet that at eight a.m. on January 1, I will be booking two nights on the Skyline Trail.
Guess I’d better get busy with packing……
