Today is our last day in Vernon, and we won’t be sorry to leave. It’s not that we had a bad time – it’s just not our kind of place – not the sort of environment that makes our hearts soar. We need mountains. We’ll get them tomorrow.
So, while Simon and Alisa headed off to Kelowna this morning to check out the city and then to head to the airport, I did loads of laundry (a line-up at the laundromat), cleaned the bathroom, walked the dogs, threw sticks for Shanara in the lake, did my nails and generally had a terribly domestic day.
Simon is now doing domesticity. He is the best vacuumer I know – as if I needed any more reasons to love him madly.
I have been scratching mosquito bites all day. I hiked through a swarm of them yesterday. They regarded my citronella spray as so much gravy – only made my flesh tastier. I have bites on top of my bites.
Tonight – a simple salad. And bread: Simon bought fabulous bread at a Kelowna bakery. As if I had to have any more reasons to love him madly! (or did I already say that?
Having Alisa here was so much fun. Did I mention she’s awesome? (she is)
So looking forward to Revelstoke tomorrow. Happily anticipating the drive! More adventures await!
Sorry you had a domestic day. My dad and I realized as we were driving around Kelowna that we had the car AND the source of Internet. Hope it wasn’t too boring!
