Getting all our ducks in a row.
Monday – it feels like this is the real start to getting ready. This morning I drove down to the stable to do laundry and handle a few other details. Simon packed more boxes and made his first full carload trip to the storage facility. Our motorhome returns to us the day after tomorrow and then we get down to cleaning and loading it. (now that’s exciting! It feels like it’s really going to happen!)
I talked to a friend with a truck and he’s all set to help us move the big items a week from tomorrow.
After that, it’s pretty much done.
And I still have two hikes I HAVE TO do before we leave. I will do the Mount Horne/Wesley traverse with Penny and the new Benson route – likely on my own.
So much to do – and in all this I remind myself that Simon is doing the lion’s share of the work. Heck, more than the lion’s share, he’s doing 98 percent of it. I just stand by to help where I can. Help today looked like taking the puppies for a couple of walks. Yep – tough jobs but I’m willing to do them.
I’m back at the floathouse where we now have a good stash of chocolate (were running low-ish) as well as a good heap of backup chocolate. I refuse to deal with the stress of possibly running out.
Not much left to do today other than bake some hiking cookies and give my beautiful man a huge hug when he gets home. As you can see, once again I have tough jobs ahead of me – but am more than willing to do them.
