Today was momentous for a small number of reasons.
First, Simon and I went dress shopping. It was an unsuccessful trip, in that we didn’t like anything on offer. What happened to pretty cotton summer dresses in pastel colours with easy swing skirts, a nice waist and a scoop neck? Why are all dresses shaped like pup tents?
There will be a second trip because I truly believe that such dresses still exist somewhere – just not in Nanaimo.
That said, the trip was also madly successful because I saw myself in a full length mirror for the first time in many moons – and I liked what I saw! To hell with my worries about getting older! I am still in shape. Besides, I can hike – so what’s not to love about this body? Most importantly, Simon seems to like it – quite a bit I might say. So – hurrah!
More shopping: we looked at our first RV today. It had potential – well, mechanical potential. I didn’t like it, but I have been in RVs in the past and I know that they don’t all feel claustrophobic and cramped. The big point here is that we made a start!
Our road trip looms closer!
Days of fun ahead!
