Simon is singing the acoustic songs he’ll be doing while we’re on the road this summer. I know you’re going to think I’m biased (I am) and that I’m gushing (of course), but I love music so much that I can still make a fairly honest assessment.
When you combine a brilliant talent on the guitar with a voice that comes straight from the heart and the courage to sing and play from the seat of the soul, magic happens.
I’ve been working in the kitchen, baking bread and making a monster vegetable soup, listening to a private concert – can’t even begin to describe how full my heart is. Sometimes words aren’t enough.
I’m the luckiest woman in the world. And the music isn’t the only reason I say that. Today I sent Simon the first twelve pages of my manuscript. His feedback was fine: super suggestions on how to improve it. Most importantly, he likes what I’ve done. He believes in me and that I have something to say.
Tomorrow, we are hiking the CPR trail loop.
Happy is a word that doesn’t begin to describe how I feel. I’m excited now to go back over my twelve pages to make the edits Simon suggested. He is helping me make this the best book it can be.
All this with music filling the room.
