This morning, Abby and I walked in the Back 40 in heavy mist – and still, signs of advanced spring were everywhere: green shoots and buds, and flowers already out on the skunk cabbage. This afternoon, a different sort of walk. We went the long way through Hemer Park in warm sunshine, seeing more and more signs of spring. Even the wild roses are in full leaf and the lily pads have thrust their strong stems out on the pond, preparing to flower. Just as we got back, a warm shower shimmered down through the sun. Ahhh, spring!
The day has been productive: guitar strumming (or guitaring, as I like to call it. Yes, in my personal lexicon, it is now a verb, as in “today I guitared”). I got up to 100 pages in the third draft of my manuscript – feeling madly accomplished.
What else? Just mundane things, like laundry and , of course, napping. Time now to gather things together and go back to the floathouse so that I can anticipate a LOMYL kiss and hug – in other words, the best part of the whole day.
