The first day of spring – possibly my happiest first day of spring ever. I’m happy because the dogs and I hiked for the third day in a row, this time to the top of Mount Tzouhalem from Genoa Bay. On that side, the south side, wild flowers had begun to bloom and the earth had dried out considerably. We had a wonderful time. For the first time in a while, my body feels in balance. I feel as though I have been working it the way I need to in order to feel genuinely fit and healthy.
Other things that made this a delightful spring day: nice lunch when I got back, good nap afterwards, hot shower after that and then a fun game of Scrabble. Simon is at the gym and that means it’s time for me to go into the studio and practice the guitar. I have another chord to learn and some finger “stuff” to work on. After that I want to get on with my manuscript. I’m on my third draft. When that’s done, it goes to Simon for feedback.
Now here’s something silly ( and totally sucky): while the dogs and I were up on the mountain this morning, Simon was at his mother’s house again, helping her out until she has fully recovered from her operation. I didn’t expect him to be home when we got back, but he was – his car was parked in the lot. I felt like a teen-ager getting an unexpected visit from her big crush. Simon is home! I get to see him before I thought I would!
