It was supposed to be a highly organized day – really. Get up early, prep the house for another showing (including power washing the deck, hit the road to my place, get there by lunch, buy a GPS and a frame, come home, walk the dogs, do some writing – simple really.
The best laid plans, as they say. First, I blame Simon entirely for scotching (simonizing?) the first and most crucial building block of the plan. He thought getting up early was a waste of precious time and made quite sure that we stayed up later than intended. (not that staying up later wasn’t fun, mind you!)
Then, there was the whole power washing thing, which took quite a bit longer than anticipated, which meant that we didn’t even set out for Wholesale Sports until almost four-thirty in the afternoon. However, the trip was a complete success and I now own a Garmin GPS, which I hope to learn and try out tomorrow on the Westwood Ridges. Then, more success: finding the perfect frame for the print I got Simon for Valentine’s Day. Then, a few groceries and home – dinner and Scrabble and finally, finally, I am writing my blog!
It’s amazing how days just escape and go down this rabbit hole where time telescopes and zip – the day is gone.
That said, every day is filled with fun and love and giggles – sharing and touching and hugging and even the occasional eyeball roll.
I think we are agreed on one thing: it’s going to be very nice when his house and my house become our house. We’re pretty set on that being soon.
