You see? My post photos aren’t strictly lollipops, unicorns and fairy dust. More on this photo later.
A beautiful day with gorgeous sunshine. I was productive – crazy productive! I finished two articles, set up a third, dashed about to do various bits and pieces of shopping, did laundry, vacuumed and cleaned the house – and even had time for a power nap after lunch.
As for the excavator: after I picked up my favourite apple cider rye at Bodhi on Rutherford, I decided I may as well take Abby for her afternoon walk in Linley Valley. The last time I was there, all was peace, quiet and birdsong. Today, I contended with huge rackets of noise. And this was the source of it. I knew there was a small amount of development going on at one end of the park, but this did surprise me. Still, even a machine like this, in the right kind of light, has a certain kind of beauty.
More beautiful was what I found further up the hill where the magic of November sunlight was turning the trees gold. And so I took some photos and drove back the long way along Hammond Bay Road. It was a good afternoon. And now a menu that is very heavy on chanterelle mushrooms, fresh baked bread slathered in sweet butter – and maybe a handful of vegetables on the side. Sounds pretty good to me.
