The most exciting think I have to report today is a lightening fast Internet speed in Sils Maria. Well, okay, there are probably other things to report too. Let me think.
First, the above photo taken in Zurich for our train to Chur. What makes this particularly brilliant is the fact that we are ” waiting” and not making a mad dash to a connection, elbowing people out of the way and trampling over old ladies and children. We actually had a half hour connection time: time to find a bathroom, buy some lunch a leisurely walk up the ramp to the platform. Our other connections ranged from about 9 to 5 minutes. But it worked because we planned a strategy for Julie’s suitcase, which I am sure more closely ensembles a steamer trunk than an actual valise of any sort. And did I mention that not only is it filled with chocolate, but she also collected rocks (yes rocks) from the Eiger’s north face. Sigh. I am convinced that I will have to go through that suitcase before we leave Sils. She just purchased a packet of wipes that she insists she will take back with her. Hmmmmm.
But back to the day. Here we are waiting in a relaxed manner for our train.
I can’ remember how many changes today. – maybe 5 or 6. And then we arrived in this charming little village where the hoteliers are delightful and rooms exceptionally cute and nice.
It’s pretty chilly and we may have to bundle up tomorrow but I’m excited about our hike. We take a bus to Majolo and do a point to point that includes a peak along the way.
