Happily, I didn’t have a madly busy morning so was able to ease in. Still, what a life it is to live in a tent on an alpine ridge! The aftereffects are still patent. I have a smile on my face and I feel very much at peace.
The only thing missing really was my dog. She is insanely happy to be home again. When we walked in Hemer Park today she danced around me almost the entire time.
It is very clear to me that I am going to have to spend far more time in the mountains – yes, even more that I already do.
Already, one of the members of our hiking group has put the idea in my head to go up to Flower Ridge again later this year.
And I am considering (and will do) one of a selection of three big hikes this weekend. With Abby this time.
On another note that is closer to home. I ate a ton of strawberries last night and this morning and just picked even more. I put in my fourth sowing of lettuce. Beans are growing madly. The garden is thriving.
Oh – and on Wednesday evening, I have a hike planned with the group and dinner at the local pub afterwards. Life is good!
