Just as I thought my work schedule for next week was calm and organized. boom! An explosion of assignments!
Quickly – very quickly – I made calls and sorted things out as best I could. Add to that one of my magazine clients with a really neat assignment – oh boy – and I am fitting it all into four days! And no, I will not give up my hard-won four-day week. Instead, if any new assignments come along now, I will pass them on to the new person, Beth – and mentor her thought them.
This is darn well going to work.
That said, today was one of those really good days of work falling into place (before the explosion) which allowed me to take a nice long walk through Hemer Park – where I found new owls. These are beginning to be ubiquitous in Nanaimo. It seems they are sprouting on trees in every park in or near the city.
I still don’t know how I feel about them. Do I like them? Does it matter if I do? (no) And actually, I’ve decided that I don’t mind them. In fact, they’re kind of fun. If I ever get bored walking in my local park, I can play a new came: spot the spotted owl!
