Today, we were located right on the mist fault line: while the rest of the city basked in sunshine, the farm was shrouded in mist. At about 2.30, just as I set out on my daily walk in the park with Abby, the sun came out. Five minutes down the trail towards the water, I was once again enveloped in chilly mist – and stayed that way until I got back. Interesting.
Other than that, it was a good re-entry Monday: two interviews this morning and a big feature in the afternoon. But all is done and the dreaded Monday is done.
The dreaded tax return is also done. I was surprised that I owed slightly more than $1,000. I believed that my installment payments were adequate. Obviously not. Or, a better way of looking at, I clearly earned more money last year than the year before. Well, hurrah for me! And hurrah that paying those taxes is no hardship.
Sometimes, we don’t realize how very fortunate we are.
Meanwhile, I am already working on Plan B for this weekend’s hiking. It seems that Saturday might bring torrential rains, which means hiking on Sunday instead – but where – that is the question.
