Yes, it’s only January 27, but it’s spring on the west coast. The shrub willows have green buds that are unfurling; the first skunk cabbages are beginning to flower – and it’s warm and sunny – hey, it’ spring!

Abby and I had a lovely walk through Hemer Park today. It was almost too warm to wear a fleece.

Night hike to the cross on Mount Tzouhalem later today – and I think my vest will be all I need to wear.

Meanwhile, this four-day work week is beginning to feel very good. It’s going to work well.

In other news, I am still madly trying to make up my mind about vacation time this summer. I am leaning heavily toward the Switzerland/Whistler option. Still, the Dolomites would be great.

And still – well – I suppose I can struggle with the problem for another week.
