So this was the actual night hike. First, to give credit where credit is due, I took the photo of Liz, Stef and Tessa (handheld mind you) while the brilliant Lorne Collicutt took the other two. And if you’re wondering why there are no photos of lights of the city below us, it’s because when we got to the top of Roberts Roost, we couldn’t see a thing: not even the faintest glow of light came through the thick fog.
Still, it was a terrific hike (is there such a thing as a bad hike?) (okay – maybe the one where I broke my arm six weeks ago….)
I’ve already been very useful this morning: I took Abby for a nice long walk to Jack Point, I vacuumed the inside of my car (desperately needed) and I am washing the dog blankets. And will you look at that: it’s not even 11 a.m. yet!
I also called my mother to wish her a happy 99th birthday. Can you imagine that! 99! Wow! I wish it was a happy 99 – sadly it is not. What I know for sure is that when it’s my turn to be 99, I’ll be dancing and laughing all the way. As a matter of fact, I’ll probably be hiking.
