Christmas Eve 2014

Today may be the best Christmas present I have ever had. What made it so special? First, the company. I don’t think I have ever met anyone I enjoy hiking with as much as Paul – he’s a very special person – and a fabulous hiker. I can get in tune with him easily. He hikes mindfully – I think we click rather well as hikers. And as people.

Then there was the weather. Here it is, December 24 and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was warm enough that it was too warm for gloves and a hat. It was a beautiful trail; It was warm; there was bliss all around us.

We brought suet and sunflower seeds for the birds that we hung in a tree; my initial idea had been to decorate a tree – bringing gifts for the birds was a much better idea!

And we hiked.

I don’t know what else to say about it – but then, there are all these wonderful pictures to better express the day than I possibly could.

I also can’t discount the job of a hot bubble bath when I got home. And now a peaceful evening. What more could I possibly ask for?P1030172 P1030174 P1030180 P1030182 P1030183 P1030184 P1030187 P1030190 P1030197
