Even when the days are heavily overcast, dark, short, drizzly – just made for curling up with a good book by a fire somewhere – the minute I get dressed and get outside for a hike or even just a long walk, everything looks brighter. I think I was meant to be outside.
I was thinking about our plan to (maybe) camp out in the snow on New Year’s Eve – I like it more and more the more I think about it.
If we actually do it, I will got to VPO on Boxing Day and pick up a multi-day pack. Maybe we’d have to bring some sparklers with us – set them off at midnight. Maybe a tiny bottle of champagne. Maybe just gaze up at the stars if the night is clear.
Be outside in the snow. What a way to see in a new year.
It’s an idea.
My words for next year are “yes” and “no.” Both are clear. My challenge is to be crystal clear inside myself about what I want to say yes to and what I want to say to – and to do it without apologies and without compromise.
2015 promises to be an interesting year.
