Mount Washington

Given a choice today between hiking in the rain on Maple Mountain and hiking and snowshoeing on Mount Washington – the decision was a no-brainer.

We had a gret time: the snow was deep and fluffy: Paul had to break trail and we came in behind him. This was not a groomed trail to Helen McKenzie. It took a tiny bit of effort and well worth it. So beautiful! Soo good for the soul! So much better to be out than to be indoors somewhere.

Is it possible for me to keep loving this stuff more and more? Well, yes, clearly it is possible.

It was amazingly warm out. There were times when I felt like I was snowshoeing through a Christmas card.

My arm got an amazing workout – better than any possible physiotherapy. And I am reaping the benefits. I can get my arm pretty much above my head. I am making very few accommodations for the arm now – almost back to normal. So, once again, I am considering the ice axe ascent of Arrowsmith – but just thinking about it, mind you.
