Now this feels like a very long day. I don’t know if it’s because I just finished my last story – or that it’s dark very early today because of heavy cloud cover and pounding rain – or maybe, to a small extent, the effort it takes to do some things and the resulting tiredness.
That said, I want to be quick to add, that the ache today is less – the exhaustion at the end of the day has lifted. My mobility is now increasing in slow increments – and, of course, I am madly impatient to have it all come together now – right away! I am missing the strength I am used to. I can’t lift things well yet. But the difference between now and a week ago is huge! This is what I have to focus on: the remarkable progress I am making.
I am not sure I understand the value of a physiotherapist. But I will see one in tow days and then make an assessment about that.
Meanwhile, I have managed to get through one of the busiest days of the week. And so it goes – one day at a time until the weekend and a big day hike on Saturday. Oh my gosh, I am so looking forward to that!
In the slightly longer term, holidays – almost a full week off at Christmas. I feel I need it. I want to alternate days of strenuous hiking with days of utter sloth, bubbles baths and lots of naps. Those holidays are bearing down quickly. Good!
