Westwood Ridges and small steps forward

What a perfect day for hiking the Westwood Ridges. The company, as always was wonderful and the weather could not have been more beautiful. Yes, the rocks were madly icy in spots, but thanks to Phil and Paul I was utterly safe. Oh my gosh, it felt good to get my heart rate up. And now I’ve had a hot bubble bath and am typing with tow hands – how could it get any better?

Well, actually, it did get better today: big news! I actually managed to get my left arm into the sleeve of a long-sleeve T-shirt this morning and then slide it over my head and get my other arm through. In other words, I was wearing a base layer! Did that feel good? Do June strawberries taste all right?Heaven – that’s what it was. And then, after my bath, I did the same with my hoodie and now I can actually walk around here and sit in front of the computer with both arms functioning. Well, my left arm is functioning at less than 100% capacity – but at least it’s out in the open. Exciting? You bet!

More fun today: after hiking we went downtown, browsed in Flying Fish where I bought two amazing packets of curry and mulligatawny soup – one of which is now heating on the stove! Then, across the street to Cherub Chocolate. After tea at Serious Coffee, I broke open that bar of chocolate: I have to tell you – it’s almsot as good as Swiss chocolate.

Saying that it was a god day is a bit of an understatement. Happy! That’s me!
