Newcastle Island

I sat down in front of my computer this morning at 6.15  to find a change of plans: Mount Maxwell was scrubbed due to weather (ice, snow, cold) – and we decided on Newcastle Island: not a hike – a nice three-hour walk. And I loved it for several reasons: I had never walked around Newcastle even though it is just in the harbour – and the company was wonderful.

Jim and Pat met us over there. I left Abby at home and felt bad about it off and on. Poor little girl. But she survived and I am making it up to her by taking her on another hike tomorrow – to the Westwood Ridges.

Back to Newcastle: it’s utterly beautiful and I will certainly be going back. Paul was wonderful: picked me up, laced me up, zipped me up, carried my camera nad even ended up taking photos for me – so some of these are all his talent.

I feel utterly spoiled. And I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends. I wonder what I did to deserve them.P1030028 P1030036 P1030040 P1030045
