Hot Summer Days

P1020442I have the distinct feeling that Abby wishes this were a photo from today. Ata bout 4.30 p.m. I invited her to go into the back 40 with me to hack away at blackberry bushes so that I could fill another big bowl with them. It took a lot of encouragement. She had just come back from a long walk in the park and truthfully, she was not interested. I don’t know how hot it is – surely 30 plus degrees with very high humidity.

She reluctantly came along and then lay down at every opportunity. Now she’s sprawled out on the floor and I don’t think she’s going to move for a while. Heck, even the ducks were nowhere to find at feeding time. I suspect they waddled into the densest, coolest section of bush they could find.

Me – I’m grateful for the summer weather. I endured a lot of rain and chill for four weeks in Europe and I love (adore) being in a tank top and shorts. Yes, I am sweating but I don’t care. I am grateful.

So – lots of work today. An issue I want to handle and I’m having trouble contacting the person I need to talk to.

But I’ll keep at it. One thing I have learned, when something is up, communicate. Even if I am afraid, communication is the thing.
