Oh no! Arghhhh!
It has happened agin. Once again, a stroke of genius – pure genius leaps into my mind out of the blue. My immediate thought is, “OMG – this is brilliant. I am so going to remember this and write it down and tell the world – and we shall have world peace and all problems will disappear!”
The only thing that disappeared was the thought.
I comfort myself by believing it was really a stupid thought anyway and would have done no one any bloody good.
I also comfort myself by acknowledging this has nothing to do with age: this is a phenomenon I have been experiencing forever.
I do remember all the mundane things: for instance, I am remembering to tell you that the ducks, after their trauma of being locked into their pen for two nights couple of weeks ago, have now recovered and trust me once again. Daisy is laying eggs in a new nest under the stairs that I hope is safe from predators. All three are also following me around again – and they travel quite good distances. Today they watched me planting more lettuce seeds in the vegetable garden. The reason I planted more seeds is that the deer got the first batch. (sigh) Well, no – not the first batch – the first batch in the veggie garden. I have another batch I planted with the potatoes and, fingers crossed, that lot seems to be doing very well.
Well, it’s been a rainy Sunday: two walks with Abby, a bit of wet-ish gardening and watched The Monuments Men, which was middling good. Also went to the Farmer’s Market – I am going to have the most ginormous salad for dinner! Nothing is better in the spring and summer than fresh mixed baby greens with toasted rye bread.
So – despite losing all my brilliance – obviously, it has still been a good day.
