I love that “end of the week” feeling, when all the work is done and I can just let it all go: a bit like going on vacation. And, speaking of vacation, I am beginning to count down the weeks. I am so excited about being in Europe again for a month.
And you know what? That’s about it for my thoughts for today. Oh sure, I had lots of other musing zipping through my brain – like the teachers’ strike. I know the government manipulated the strike in order to get the public on its side.
But no side is completely free of culpability. If the teachers compromised on their wage demands – met the government offer on that matter – then they would truly have the public on their side. Because they’re right about class size and composition and quality of education. But they have to let go of the wage demands. No one is on their side in that dispute and, in the end, it gives the very strong impression that more money is really what it’s all about.
And maybe it si all about money. Maybe we get that impression because it’s true. If so, I wash my hands of the whole thing.
And there you have it – thoughts of a Friday afternoon.
My happiest thought is hiking tomorrow: a new trial: a chance to explore new territory: Wesley Ridge here I come. With any luck: no rain; lots of sun; great photos. We shall see.
