Maddeningly, the temperature continues to hover just around zero – just barely cold enough for the rain to not be rain – but to be thick, wet snow instead. And it just keeps falling and falling. This is becoming reminiscent of 1998 when it snowed for (as I remember) six or seven days without stopping once. We had snow at least three feet high – and, of course, frozen water pipes and no electricity for three or four days.

Okay, this is not nearly as bad as that, but still….

On the bright side, Abby enjoys it – and I finally got to use my new snowshoes! They were wonderful. Outfitted with Goretex from head to foot, snowshoes and gaiters, I was as cozy and dry as a squirrel in an oak tree. Also on the bright side, it seems that the temperatures are going to rise dramatically tomorrow and beyond – hurrah!

More (for me) good news was great work today. I feel like  I accomplished a lot. completing tow major stories.

So, all in all, I am resting on my laurels – which is a strange new way to say “bum” – but what the heck….
