That’s rhetorical question by the way.
First it was the women’s curling team and then Team Canada in ice hockey. Just plain Wow! all the way.
Now – let me tell you a secret: you have me to thank for both those wins. First, as soon as I got up this morning I started watching the curling streaming live on my computer – and OMG, Canada was behind Sweden 3-2. I watched for a bit and simply couldn’t stand it. Teh stress was too much for me. I stopped watching, checked my emails, etc. Then, when I thought it might be safe to peek again, I got there just as Jennifer Jones threw that last rock for the win. You see, if I had continued to watch, I would have put a curse on them and Sweden would have won.
Then, as I drove around this morning doing my various errands, I listened to the hockey game live on CBC. Teh first period – and the second period. I lost hope. But then I realized with the score 2-0 for the US, the only hope Canada had for the Gold was if I stopped listening. I did. And did not tune in again until I got home and my Facebook friends informed me that the women had just won. I watched a replay of the final goal and burst into happy tears. But you should be aware that if I had continued to listen, Canada would have lost.
And to celebrate this golden moment or two, I bring you a golden morning photo from one of the beaver ponds in the area.
