Birthday – the day after

I am tired. It doesn’t happen very often but, of my gosh, I am so darn busy. Not done with work yet. today – one more interview to do and story to write up. Teh interview is scheduled for 5 p.m.

And sometimes, it isn’t the actual work that makes me tired – it’s trying to line things up. Why are some people (usually car dealers) so difficult to track down? Why don’t they return phone calls? Don’t they realize that we in the media are public too? That we buy cars and recommend dealerships? Possibly even more so than anyone else because we write about them and people ask us. How often will I recommend someone who won’t even return a phone call?

This feels like a to be continued rant because it’s such familiar ground. I want people to return phone calls. And the, when I make an appointment, I want people to keep it and to be on time. I don’t think that’s a lot to ask. I do it and I don’t find it a hardship at all.

Okay – enough!

Enough, because life is awesome. Yesterday was wonderful. Today – well, The Voice and the X Factor are on. So four days a week I am glued to my iMac catching up on the night before. REally, I know it’s pedestrian – but I love these shows.

I admit it.

And I’m not embarrassed.

The secret with car dealers is to call back in an hour or so and tell the receptionist when you leave a message that you’d like to hear back by x o’clock because you have another dealer wanting to meet up with you at y o’clock.

ah – I can see how that would work – but not with media who needs to do an interview with you and you don’t have the option of interviewing anyone else 🙂
