Just when I think I’m done for the week – and have packed up my lists and calendar etc. etc., I get sideswiped by an email from my editor – oh well, I’ll just add one more story to my long, long list for next week. I’ve already had to cancel my birthday lunch on Monday – sob!
Do I hear a whimper? And is that whining emanating from my throat? Ahem. (giving self a good shake – nothing like a shake or two to settle me down.)
Who cares about birthday’s anyway!
Okay, now that I’ve gotten the martyr whine out of my system, I can just carry on.
Teh lovely news this week is the completion of my bathroom re-do, which I really love. Picture it: new paint on the walls, new bath mats and lots and lots of thick, fluffy white towels – very spa-like. In fact, instead of imagining it – here are some actual pictures:
Wrong setting on the camera makes the walls (and everything else) look to green – the actual colour is taupe. So you see, you will have to use your imagination after all. Aren’t you glad?
So that was the fun part of the week. No wait! Other fun part of the week – watching the X Factor and loving it this year. They got the judge chemistry right and the talent this year is awesome.
Other than that, it’s been all work and the “all work” part is really going to kick in next week. I tell myself that this is terrific because I am socking it away for another trip to Europe next year and it’s going to be even better than this year. So excited. I mean, why shouldn’t I be? It’s only 10 months away!
Hiking on Mount Arrowsmith tomorrow, rain or shine. I suspect it will be the former. But hiking is always good – always. What’s the old saying? A bad day hiking is better than a good day doing almost anything else. Especially with dogs in tow. Stay tuned for damp photos.
