Hike to Boat Harbour

Nature is my church, my temple, my sanctuary. All I have to do is go out into the woods, or to the sea , or to the mountaintop – especially on a warm and sunny day – and everything drops away. Nature is my meditation.

And so Abby and I took a long hike to Boat Harbour and meandered back through Hemer Park. All of this after a beautiful morning at the Cedar Farmer’s Market where I bought far, far too much food. After months of winter vegetables, I admit that I get a bit crazy when the first young lettuce comes along. I hae enough lettuce (and other various greens including spinach) to feed a sizeable army. I shall endeavour to eat far too much salad tonight – with good fresh, organic red phyfe bread smeared with sweet butter. Yep – sounds good to me.

Tomorrow – back to a day in nature on Maple Mountain rain or shine. It’s good for my soul.

Today’s photos are more about flowers than anything else, which is really quite natural at this time of year – with the forest floor bursting into bloom.

So here are some flowers – and, of course, Boat Harbour. ( and seashells tucked into the rocks)
