Ammonite Falls

I believe the saying is, “Be careful what you wish for.” Yup – we jokingly said, “Lets get lost today.” Let me just say this – thank goodness J brought her GPS.

The trails up by the Wastelands are myriad and convoluted. It didnt’ help that we took the wrong turning right off the bat and spent almost five hours hiking up and down hills, along riverbanks and ravines and generally, in circles, until we found Ammonite Falls. Of course we also had to to do some serious backtracking to find the log we had to cross to get on the side where we could get down to the falls – which we did not do. The log was wet and slippery and we chose to do that section of trails next time from the other side that does not require a log.

So we had time to stop by a certain restaurant in town where I had a chance to walk in a give the host at the front desk a gift certificate I’ve had for a month – to be gifted to a group of girls at a table in a corner. Paying it forward – feels good. Slipped out anonymously. Giving is a selfish thing – it just feels so darn good.
