One of the really wonderful things about winter hiking is the different perspective the landscape holds. Trails disappear – new ground needs to be broken and terrain just has a different feel to it.
Today was especially delightful – mainly because it didnt’ rain! (such a blessing on the West Coast). But more than that: we had a good group of five people and four dogs. Great fun! We found a new trail that we hiked – an especially nice trail too. The sun even came out for a couple of hours.
So – it was, all in all, as good a day as it’s possible to get at the end of December on Vancouver Island.
Now – I’ve had a long., hot, delicious bubble bath, Abby is blissfully asleep and I am going to have a lazy rest of the day. Now – if only I had some servants to cook and serve dinner. Sigh…
