Truthfully, I did a lot more than walk today – but it was the morning and afternoon walks that gave me the most pleasure. Teh sun was watery and wintry – hanging low in the sky, drawing a veil of mist and clouds across its face, but still giving enough light to make photography a pleasure.
I was up with Abby three times last night. Partly, I think it’s because she found (and scarfed down) most of a bag of peppermint flavoured horse treats. Partly it was just very odd. She did something she has never ever done before. She kept coming to my bedside and putting her face as close to me as possible – and just staring. She seemed to be in no pain. Nothing was wrong. This morning I heard there was an earthquake. I wonder – did she feel it?
I don’t know. But today she seemed none the worse for wear (as opposed to her sleep deprived mom). And today she is five years old. Happy Birthday Abby!
I made a mad shopping dash this morning – looking for a headboard – that does not cost an arm and most of one leg. Search was unfruitful but I’m not in a hurry. Stocked up on food. Got home – panic assignment for a press date of today. Handled! (whew!) And so, another day sinks into darkness and the days are getting longer. Life is very, very good.
